ETH Cloud Mining — A Bonus One Fifth of the Payout

Verdict up front: this app offers a 0.001 ETH signing-up bonus and sets its minimum withdrawal at 0.005 ETH. The bonus is one fifth of what you need before the payout button does anything. It has been installed more than 100,000 times and carries no public reviews at all.

ETH Cloud Mining & Mobile Earn is published by CDM Apps. On the day we checked it showed 100,000+ downloads, was last updated on 22 December 2025, and is rated Mature 17+ by the ESRB — an unusual classification for a finance app.

The bonus and the wall

The first line of the store description is the hook:

From the store listing

AEDFIX Support Banner

“INSTALL THE APP DURING EARLY ACCESS AND GET A BONUS 0.001 ETH.”

The app’s own screenshots show the payout screen. The figures on it are: Minimum amount 0.005 ETH. Commission 5%. Payment status: Not ordered.

So the welcome gift is 0.001 and the gate is 0.005. You arrive owning one fifth of the price of admission, and the remaining four fifths must be earned by watching adverts or recruiting other people. That is the entire mechanic, stated in the developer’s own marketing images.

No reviews. None at all.

Here is the part that should stop you. An app with over 100,000 installs normally carries thousands of reviews. This listing has no ratings and reviews section whatsoever — not a low score, not a handful of complaints. Nothing.

There are only a few ways that happens, and none of them are reassuring: reviews disabled, reviews stripped, or an install count that does not come from ordinary users. Whichever it is, you cannot check this app against anybody else’s experience before you spend time on it. That is not an accident of design.

What it wants from your phone

The listing promises your device is safe: “DO NOT WORRY FOR YOUR MOBILE DEVICE. ITS RESOURCES WILL NOT BE USED FOR MINING. MINING OCCURS EXCLUSIVELY ON REMOTE SERVERS.”

But the Data safety panel on the same page says something else about what it takes:

Google Play Data safety, as declared by the developer

“This app may share these data types with third parties: Location, Personal info and 2 others.” And, on the same panel: “Data can’t be deleted.”

Read those two together. Your location and personal information may be passed to unnamed third parties, and once collected you have no route to have it removed. You are not being paid in Ethereum for watching adverts. You are paying in data, up front, and that payment is not refundable.

The earnings model, in the developer’s words

  • “Increase mining speed for free and in unlimited quantities”
  • “Watch ads and earn Ethereum”
  • “Referral system: share your referral link with your friends and get 20% of their earnings

Two of those three are revenue for the developer the moment you perform them. The third recruits more people to do the same. None of them require anybody to be paid out.

The most recent update note reads, in full: “Added earnings from completing tasks; Fix bugs.” Another way to spend time without reaching 0.005.

Before you install any app like this

  • Compare the bonus to the threshold. If the free gift is a fraction of the minimum payout, the gift is bait, not value.
  • Check there are reviews at all. A missing reviews section on a six-figure install count is a bigger warning than a bad score.
  • Read the Data safety panel, not the description. The description is marketing. The panel is a declaration.
  • “Data can’t be deleted” is a permanent decision. Treat it as one.

If you have already installed it

Uninstall it, then revoke its permissions in your phone’s settings rather than assuming removal did that for you. If you paid anything, request a refund through Google Play directly. If money left your account and nothing came back, report it at IC3.gov — reporting is free, and no legitimate service asks you to pay before your money is returned.
