Meta Partners (metapartnersco.com) says it has built diversified investment portfolios since its founding in 1983, from a headquarters in Tokyo. It lists an address in Minato, a Tokyo phone number and a TradingView market tracker. Luxembourg’s CSSF warned about Meta Partners, and the alert was shared through IOSCO’s I-SCAN on 10 September 2025.

Why private equity is a favourite pitch

Meta Partners talks about investments in privately held companies that are not listed on public stock exchanges. That sounds exclusive. In practice it means you cannot check the price, cannot sell when you want and must trust whatever valuation the firm sends you. It is the easiest product to fake.

How to check a Tokyo firm in two minutes

Every firm that sells investments in Japan must be registered with the Financial Services Agency, and the FSA publishes that list in English. Search for the exact company name. If Meta Partners does not appear, it is not allowed to manage your money in Japan, and it is certainly not allowed to approach you from abroad. Ask the person who contacted you for their registration number and check it yourself. The site shows a phone number and an address, which costs nothing to put on a page, and it does not show the one thing that matters.
