A developer name made of keywords
This listing appears in Play search as Bitcoin Mining (Crypto Miner). Its developer name is “Bitcoin Mining & Crypto Blockchain rewards cloud”, and its package name is a chain of coin names: bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, cloud, mining, eth, btc, ltc, hash, pool. Neither is a company. Both are search keywords.
The description invites you to “join over 1M+ Happy Bitcoin Miners” and to “start their mining journey with one tap”, and says “we provide the advanced Bitcoin hashrate”. The gallery shows “Automated Bitcoin payout — your mining output of 0.03918537 BTC has been sent directly to your linked wallet” and “Direct-to-Wallet Bitcoin Payouts”.
A paying user did the maths

“SCAM! I subscribed to 2 packages…” He says the developer assured him that complaining reviewers had been hasty and had not waited for their contracts to expire. “So I waited until mine expired after 90 days. I earned $1.21 but I invested $16.98! Loss of $15.77! Even tho I watched 100–150 ads a day & played Offer wall games.”
Why “wait for the contract to end” is the tell
Telling a complaining customer to wait out the contract does two things. It delays the refund request past the window in which Google Play will usually grant one. And it keeps the customer watching ads for the full term. By the time he has the result, the operator has been paid by him and by the advertisers, and the refund door has closed.
The result he reports — about 7 cents back for every dollar in — is not an unlucky run of mining difficulty. It is what an app pays when the payout is a retention cost, not the product.
Other complaints
Taoheed, 3 April 2024, reports being locked out of his account for more than a day with no answer from the support email. A locked account is a withdrawal that cannot be requested.
What the numbers on the listing mean
480,000 reviews and a place among top-grossing finance apps in some markets tell you that the app makes money. They do not tell you that its users do. The 0.039 BTC payout in the gallery is a marketing image. Ask for a transaction hash and you will be able to tell the difference.
Before you pay any mining app
Four checks take less than two minutes. Read the full description for the words simulation, virtual or for entertainment. Find the withdrawal minimum and compare it with what one day of “mining” adds. Look at the Play category and the developer name: a mining app filed under Tools or Productivity, or published under a personal name or a string of keywords, is avoiding scrutiny. Then sort the reviews by newest and read the one-star ones about withdrawals. If none of those checks passes, the only safe amount to spend is nothing.
- A keyword-string developer name means there is no company to hold responsible.
- “Wait until your contract ends” is how refund windows are run out.
- Work out your return on the first small package before you buy a second.
- “Sent to your linked wallet” on a screenshot proves nothing without an on-chain transaction.
If you have already paid
Cancel any subscription in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions), not inside the app. Request a refund through Google Play while the charge is recent. Screenshot your balance, the withdrawal screen and every purchase before anything changes. Note the date of each purchase: Google Play refund windows are short. Then report it at IC3.gov, or to Action Fraud in the UK.
