Profit margin is the wrong word
What the app computes is a price difference. Calling it a profit margin turns a raw number into a promise, and the gap between the two is every cost the listing never mentions.
Buy fee, sell fee, withdrawal fee, network fee, and the slippage on whichever thin book is producing the interesting number. On the small-capitalisation coins where the biggest gaps appear, those costs routinely exceed the gap. The app presents the top line and omits the subtraction.

250 coins is a feature that works against you
Widening the scan from the top 25 to the top 250 does not find better opportunities. It finds thinner ones.
The largest displayed spreads cluster on the least liquid assets, on the smallest exchanges, in pairs that may be suspended for deposits or withdrawals. That is precisely where a number looks best and can be executed least. A setting that lets a user reach further down the list is a setting that surfaces more unusable rows.
