uTrading Copy Trading Bot listing on Google Play, flagged by AEDFIX

uTrading — A Copy Bot Named After Elon

Verdict up front: uTrading – Copy Trading Bot sells automated copy trading to a hundred thousand people. Its package identifier is com.elontrade.utrading. Nothing in the listing mentions Elon, and nothing in it names a single trader you would be copying.

The name buried in the package identifier

Every Android app carries a package identifier, set once when the project is created and rarely changed afterwards because changing it means publishing a new app and losing every install. It is the closest thing a listing has to a birth certificate.

uTrading’s is com.elontrade.utrading. The middle segment reads elontrade. The listing itself never mentions Elon Musk, and the app is presented as a neutral automation platform called uTrading.

That gap is worth noticing. Package names are chosen at the start, when the product is whatever the developer first had in mind. A trading app whose identifier says elontrade began life associated with a name that sells, and the public branding has since been made neutral. The identifier is the part that could not be quietly rewritten.

Copying whom, exactly

Copy trading has one question at its centre. Whose trades are you copying? The entire proposition rests on the answer, because a copy trading platform is only as good as the traders on it.

A serious copy trading service publishes that. It shows each trader’s verified history, the length of it, the maximum drawdown, the win rate, the average position size and how long they hold. Regulated platforms are required to present past performance fairly and to warn that it does not predict future results.

The uTrading listing names nobody. There is no leaderboard shown with real figures, no trader history, no drawdown, no audited record and no explanation of how a trader qualifies to be copied. The screenshots show percentages beside anonymous handles, which is a design, not a disclosure.

REPORT A SCAM FAST

Automation described without a strategy

The description offers cloud-based automation tools that run pre-defined strategies without constant monitoring, and says users worldwide rely on it to improve trading efficiency and strategy execution.

Read that closely and nothing in it is a claim about outcomes, which is unusual and in one sense to the app’s credit. But it also means the reader is told the mechanism and never the result. There is no statement of what the bots have actually returned, over what period, on what capital, or how often they lose.

Efficiency is not profit. A bot that executes a losing strategy efficiently loses money faster. The listing repeatedly describes speed and convenience, and at no point describes performance.

What to check before connecting an account

A copy trading bot generally needs access to a trading account, often through an API key. Before granting one, check whether the key can be restricted to trading only, with withdrawal permission switched off. If an app asks for a key with withdrawal rights, stop there.

Look for the operator. Utrading Ventures LTD is named, which is more than many manage, but no jurisdiction, registration number or regulator appears. A firm handling other people’s trading decisions is a regulated activity in most countries, and the absence of any licence claim is the material fact.

Then apply the test that settles it. Ask for one trader’s full verified history including their worst month. A platform that will not show you the drawdown of the people it wants you to copy is not selling a track record. It is selling the idea of one.

Our view: a hundred thousand people have installed a copy trading bot that does not name a single trader they would be copying, publishes no performance record, claims no regulator, and carries an identifier pointing at a celebrity name its own listing never mentions. Do not connect a funded account to it.
